For the last five years I biked 180 miles each summer, through 3 states, to Camp Simcha - an extraordinary overnight camp that gives kids with cancer a vacation from sickness.

4 years ago, my family suffered a sudden and tragic loss with the passing of our wonderful brother, father, and husband, Moshe Weiss at the young age of 41. Moshe was an extraordinary inspiration to our family and to all who knew him, in ways that are nearly impossible to explain. He spent much of his time working with children and teenagers with learning disabilities. He accomplished more good in his short time on earth than most people do with twice the years.

This summer I will be again dedicating my ride to Moshe because I know he would want to be a part of an event that helps children to live their lives completely, despite adversity.

Bike4Chai restores these children’s spirits, gives them a reason to laugh and smile, and renews their determination to fight.

Biking 180 miles isn’t easy, but life itself isn’t easy for a child with cancer or other serious illness. Every year these two camps offer hundreds of children an opportunity to forget about their illnesses and just be kids again.

This year I will be biking to Camp Simcha on (Wednesday and Thursday August 14th and 15th). My objective is to raise $10,000 or more, and I hope you will help me do it again this year through your generosity, and by spreading the word to your friends and family.

Thank you for helping me honor my brother Moshe’s memory in this small way, and in doing so helping children and their families cope with the diagnosis, treatment and aftermath of serious pediatric illness.
