Do It For These Incredible Kids!

There are two sayings we have when we’re training – DO IT FOR THE KIDS and IT’S ALL ABOUT THE KIDS!

After three years (2016-2018) of participating in this incredible event, I am gearing up (yes, pun intended) for the Bike4Chai 10-Year Anniversary (I’m hoping that this year we won’t have to ride through a downpour to reach Camp Simcha). Each and every time that I ride into Camp Simcha and see all of the amazing children of Camp Simcha and Chai Lifeline, I can’t help but be filled with an enormous amount of emotion. Singing, dancing and interacting with all of the children of Camp Simcha, along with their families and the camp staff, is an experience that can’t be put into words. Each and every single child is special in their own unique and individual way.

For the fourth consecutive summer, I will once again bike 180+ miles through New Jersey, the Pocono Mountains, and Upstate NY. This is no ordinary cycling event; it’s an exhilarating ride ending at Camp Simcha, a remarkable overnight camp that provides seriously ill children with a vacation from sickness, restoring their spirits and renewing their determination to fight.

The ride won't be easy; neither is life for a child with cancer or other serious illness. Camp Simcha and its sister camp, Camp Simcha Special, are Chai Lifeline’s flagship programs. Every year these two camps offer 430 children a chance to forget about illness and just be kids again. To learn more about Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha special, visit campsimcha.org.

I will be biking to camp on Wednesday and Thursday, August 14th and 15th, 2019. My objective is to raise $36,000 by then (I know it’s an aggressive goal, but last year you all helped me raise over $26,000, and it can’t hurt to have lofty goals) and I hope you will help me reach this goal. All donations are 100% tax-deductible.

Please contribute by clicking on the donate button now.

Thank you for supporting me and, in doing so, helping children and their families cope with the diagnosis, treatment, and aftermath of serious pediatric illness.

Best Regards,
Barry
