One of the reasons I’m so passionate about Bike4Chai is I believe among the most powerful words an adult can say to a child is “I believe in you”. I’ve seen first-hand, as a youth sports coach and a parent, how believing in a child can give them more confidence and strength than they can muster on their own.
Bike4Chai is 180-mile bike ride that raises funds to send children with serious illnesses to Chai Lifeline’s Camp Simcha for two weeks of pure joy. Through Camp Simcha’s amazing program children forget about their illnesses and experience life simply as children, rather than patients. Their time at Camp Simcha gives children the confidence and determination they need to face the fight of their lives. With every mile I train and dollar I raise, the thought that stays with me is the more we can show these children we believe in them, the more strength, courage and determination they’ll bring to their fight.
