For the second time, this summer I will have the opportunity to partake in a life-changing event: a 180-mile bike ride through New Jersey, the Pocono Mountains, and Upstate NY. This is no ordinary ride; it’s an exhilarating cycling event ending at Camp Simcha, a remarkable overnight camp that provides seriously ill children with a vacation from sickness, restoring their spirits and renewing their determination to fight.

This time, just as the last time, I'm doing this ride memory of my mother Hinda Gordon (A"H), which this July will mark 28 years since she lost her battle with cancer. This charity is particularly meaningful to me as it has directly impacted my friends and other members of the community who rely on this organization and the services they provide.

The ride won't be easy; neither is life for a child with cancer or other serious illness. Camp Simcha and its sister camp, Camp Simcha Special, are Chai Lifeline’s flagship programs. Every year these two camps offer 430 children a chance to forget about illness and just be kids again. To learn more about Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha special, visit campsimcha.org. The camp is free of charge to families (!!!) but relies on donations to make it possible. This year my objective is to raise at least $5,000 and I hope you will help me reach this goal.
