Bill/Poppy Seplowitz

Dear friends,

I’m back in the saddle again, will be doing the two day 180 mile bike ride as a fundraiser for Camp Simcha, this August.

With last year’s generous contributions from all of you, my ride raised over $18,500.00. It’s going to be difficult to match it this year, because my brother, Rabbi Yerachmiel (still Ricky to me) Seplowitz, who had to opt out of last year’s ride for medical reasons, has recommitted to this summer’s ride, and his fundraising has an assist from a donor who has offered to match the first $12,500 he raises.

Since both of us tap into some of the same people, those wanting more bang from their donation buck should be making their contributions toward his effort, rather than mine, but more power to him.

About the cause -

Life for a child with cancer or another life-threatening/life-altering condition is fraught with pain, fear, and unimaginable challenges. For two weeks of every summer, these kids are granted the chance to forget about their illnesses and experience life simply as children, rather than patients. A summer in Camp Simcha is an extraordinary opportunity for hundreds of children to restore their fighting spirit and renew their determination to defeat illness and suffering.

Because I've been so blessed, I will bike 180 miles over 2 days, this time with my brother, through three states, to Camp Simcha. The ride will be an endeavor but I'm hoping that the light at the end, on the faces of the campers at the finish line, will carry me through.

The ride will be happening on August 14th and 15th, 2019. You don’t have to ride along to support this most worthy cause; I have set a goal to raise $5,000, if we reach it, I am thinking to increase it going forward, with the off chance that I can catch up with my little brother.

All donations are 100% tax-deductible.

You can contribute to my ride by clicking the link below, or to my brother's by looking for the other Seplowitz.

If you prefer to donate by check, it should be made payable to Chai Lifeline, with the following notation on the memo:

Thank you for supporting me and, more importantly, for supporting the children of Camp Simcha!
